The boxes of books are shipping to arrive the week of April 16, and givers should be notified soon about when they can pick up their books. I know some pick up points for Rochester are Writers & Books, Barnes & Noble, and the Gates Public Library.
Any givers out there willing to share where you’ll be giving your books away?

World Book Night Rochester is part of a larger, global event called, simply, World Book Night. It began in the UK last year, so it is still very new. WBN Rochester is simply several givers who happen to know each other getting together to try and coordinate information on programs and events. We don’t control the giving process – that is done by the larger WBN organization, accessed at http://www.us.worldbooknight.org. We all had to apply to WBN to become givers, and many people were not selected.
As I said, this is a very new event. The bookmarks were intended to draw people to the website to learn more about the events planned locally.
If you want to apply to be a giver next year, bookmark the website listed n the first paragraph and check it often. The more the merrier!
